The StoryBrand Framework has the power to transform a brand

Angie Cirone, sales director, answered some questions in regards to the Source Brand Solutions Storybrand certification. She’s worked closely with the Storybrand team on some additional training, so she has seen a few insiders and sure knows the Storybrand methods very well. 

What is Storybrand, you may ask? StoryBrand is a 7-part marketing framework that combines the art of storytelling with strategy.

  1. How did you find out about Storybrand and how did you know it would be useful for everyone in our organization to learn? 

Our whole team read “Building a StoryBrand” by Donald Miller and we saw a lot of value in the concepts. We began applying the concepts to our internal marketing throughout the company. We were able to communicate more clearly than ever before. We worked on positioning our brand as the guide who is helping our clients succeed. After a year of applying the general concepts, we decided to become a certified StoryBrand Agency so we could take our company and clients to the next level.

  1. What are one of the top takeaways from Storybrand Training (in your opinion?)

Our StoryBrand agency training was so insightful. We learned a framework for creating marketing and messaging for companies and then we practiced applying the framework in groups and offering feedback. Our top takeaway was continuing this process beyond our official training period. We have weekly sessions for our team to practice the framework and fine tune our copywriting. 

  1. How has becoming Story Brand certified changed the way you market? 

First, the StoryBrand Framework has changed the way we create our messaging. Like most marketing agencies, we were making our clients the hero of the story when they need to take the position of the guide. This is a key step in the 7-part framework and has the power to transform a brand.

Second, StoryBrand helped us see that we need to offer valuable content to companies for free. We have e-books available that outline key principles of marketing that companies can apply. We run webinars on many aspects of marketing. Our blog gives insights on digital marketing principles. We email digital marketing tips to our contacts on a regular basis. We will continue to make these efforts to educate companies on marketing best practices.

  1. What do you wish you had implemented in your marketing plan sooner? 

Our training helped me see the power of lead generators. We were already hosting webinars and luncheons, but StoryBrand helped us create a strategy around attracting the right people and following up. We currently have e-books and email campaigns that help educate our clients and help them make the best decision possible about their marketing strategy.

  1. Would you recommend Storybrand to other organizations? 

Yes, I would recommend that any company check out the StoryBrand Framework! First, read the books “Building a StoryBrand” and “Marketing Made Simple”. Then consider purchasing the online training Business Made Simple University. Then, attend a live stream to further develop your knowledge.
